Every year thousands of international students from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Myanmar, Maldives, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Gulf countries, African countries, and Latin American countries want to study in India. A significant portion of them are unaware of the scholarships offered by the Government of India and various educational institutions. The Scholarship offered by the Indian Embassy for various fields are as below:

COMPEX Scholarship Scheme: The COMPEX Scholarship Scheme by the Embassy of India offers scholarships for undergraduate courses in Engineering (BE), Pharmacy (B. Pharmacy), Agriculture (B.Sc-Agri), Dairy Technology (B.Sc. – DT), and B.Sc. Nursing at Indian Universities and Institutes. Please note, MBBS/BDS (Self-finance) seats are not included anymore due to the NEET score requirement.

AYUSH Scholarship Scheme: The AYUSH scholarship scheme provides opportunities for undergraduate/postgraduate/PhD courses in Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy systems of medicine in Indian institutions.

APS Scholarship Scheme: The APS Scholarship Scheme offers admissions to school-level courses from Class VI to IX and XI for boys and girls in Army Public Schools.

General Scholarship Scheme (GSS): The General Scholarship Scheme provides opportunities for undergraduate courses in various fields like BBA, BCA, BA, B.Sc., B.Com, BA (Music/Performing Arts) at Indian Universities/Institutes.

When & How to Apply: Announcements are usually made in December/January. Look for notices on the Embassy of India’s website.

SAARC Scholarship Scheme: This scheme offers admissions to the B.Sc Hospitality & Hotel Management course in Indian institutions.

Silver Jubilee Scholarship Scheme (SJSS): The SJSS offers admissions to Nepalese candidates for MBA, MCA, MA, M.Sc & Ph.D. courses (excluding certain fields) in Indian Universities and Institutions.

Dr. Homi J. Bhabha Scholarship Scheme: This scheme offers admissions to Nepalese candidates in the Master of Engineering (ME) course in Indian Universities and Institutions.
